No. 71: In-Store Shopping

I went out tonight with my fellow English major best friend, Alex, to the Deptford Mall. Being as I haven’t been to the mall in almost a year and haven’t seen her in approximately six months, it was long overdue and much needed.

What was great about tonight’s trip was her re-introducing me to in-store shopping. I’m the type of person that online shops for everything. Literally everything. It’s easy, convenient, and gives me an excuse not to leave the comfort of my couch. But tonight I realize all the benefits in person shopping brings: you can try on clothes as you like prior to purchasing them, you don’t have to pay for shipping, and you can get your steps in (for all you fellow Fitbit users).

We also went to Sephora, a store at which I’ve been compiling items in my online shopping cart for about a month. And let me tell you, even though I paid a hefty price for my Peter Thomas Roth and Kat Von D products, I felt a little less guilty about the purchase because I didn’t have to pay for shipping. I felt the same way when I purchased a pair of much needed white sneakers from Payless, too.

Thank you, Alex, for reintroducing me to in-store shopping. I have a feeling I’ll be doing a whole lot more of it in the near future.
